Spring Walking Week
Saturday 10th May – 17th May
Discover the island’s unique heritage and explore Jersey’s natural beauty in a series of free guided walks designed for every age and experience. Additionally, the Around Island Walk is conducted over five days and covers the entire coastline of the island. Transfers are included in this walk to get you to and from your starting point each day. This walk is £25 for the week, while all the other walks featured in the programme are free.

Collas Crill Round Island Walk
Saturday 21st June 2014
Covering a total distance of 48.1 miles this annual charity event, organised in association with Rotary de la Manche, attracts both local and visiting walkers who are keen to challenge themselves. Not for the faint hearted, the walk goes anticlockwise around the island, with thirteen checkpoints along the way. Walkers can expect to complete the walk in anything from 12 to 21 hours. www.jersey.com/walking

Black Butter Making

Jersey Textile Showcase

Visitors to the Jersey Textile Showcase will have a wide choice of half and full day workshops and many exhibitions, with free entry, led by 12 inspirational tutors from the UK, France and Jersey. Liberation International Music Festival

The fifth Liberation Music Festival theme explores liberation, artistic freedom and the power of music to liberate the spirit. With a flavour of France we remember the forced labourers who were shipped to Jersey to build Hitler’s Atlantic Wall. Channel 103 Big Gig in the Park

This event, which will see some of the biggest new talents in popular music performing in Jersey, takes place at the beautiful Howard Davis Park in St Helier. Now in its fifth year, with artists still to be named, previous headline acts have included boy bands JLS and Union J, plus winner of The X Factor James Arthur. This year’s gig will grow to two days with the introduction of a “Legend in the Park” on Friday night. Legendary singer Sir Tom Jones, who is currently reaching and appealing to new audiences since joining BBC1’s “The Voice”, will headline the night.

Barclays Jersey Boat Show

The Barclays Jersey Boat Show gets the boating season off to a great start taking place right in the maritime heart of St Helier. Jersey International Festival of Motoring
Friday 6th – Sunday 8th June;
Steep winding hills and straights beside the long beach provide the perfect combination for a motoring festival for participants and spectators alike. The festival is the largest annual motoring event in the Channel Islands, with competitive sprint and hill climbs for classic and vintage cars and motorcycles, a large static motor show with motor and ancillary trade stands and exhibits from Jersey motoring clubs, and a touring event visiting places of interest around the island. Enthusiasts come from far and wide to proudly drive and display their “pride and joy”, whether it be a veteran, vintage, classic, touring or competition car or motorcycle. The focus is on Jersey’s glorious and pioneering days of motorsport emanating from the famous Jersey international road races of the 40’s & 50’s.

Venture Cup – London to Monte Carlo Powerboat Race
Saturday 7th – Monday 9th June
For the first time Jersey will play host to the world’s longest, toughest and most prestigious powerboat race. Up to 35 Ocean –class powerboats will race from the heart of London to Jersey in the first leg of this two week 2750 mile race. The Venture Cup village in St Helier will be the hub of shore activity whilst the action takes place on the water.

Pearl Izumi Tour Series Finale

The Pearl Izumi Tour Series is Britain’s leading televised cycle race Series, with highlights of every round shown on ITV4. In 2014 The Pearl Izumi Tour Series will culminate in Jersey, with top teams battling it out for the right to be crowned the best team in Britain.

Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon
Sunday 5th October
The marathon starts on the streets of St Helier and runs through some of the Island’s most scenic spots, taking in country lanes, picturesque valleys and the beautiful coast of Jersey. In addition to the main marathon, there is a relay race and fun run for everyone! This is the seventh year that the Jersey Marathon has been held. Not only is it a great race but also contributes to the economy of the Island and to charitable causes.

Paperclix Jersey Rally
Friday 10th – Saturday 11th October
One of the few car rallies left in the British Isles run entirely on public roads, the 31st Paperclix Jersey Rally is a weekend not to be missed by motorsport enthusiasts. Jersey’s narrow and twisty lanes which are edged in many sections with rugged granite walls prove to be a tough challenge for the 80-90 crews from the UK, Channel Islands and France expected to take part.

Liberation Day

Coin Hoard
Monday 26th May – 31st December
Jersey Heritage will be displaying the world’s largest Celtic coin hoard discovered in 2012 and containing up to 70,000 silver alloy coins plus gold and silver jewellery. It will be the centrepiece of a major exhibition which looks at the Channel Islands as part of the Celtic and Roman worlds two thousand years ago, when they were at the edge of the Empire. In addition to the hoard, which will be placed in its own laboratory with conservators taking it apart in public view, the exhibition will feature Celtic treasures from the Channel Islands and Brittany region.
