2013-04-24 — /travelprnews.com/ — Jersey’s Atlantic Hotel is this week celebrating being listed as one of the ‘50 Best British hotels’ by the Independent newspaper. The annual list, which appeared in the Independent’s Saturday Radar Magazine on 20th April, offers the experts’ guide to the nation’s greatest places to get away from it all.
Highlighted in the ‘With a view’ category, alongside stunning properties such as Glengorm Castle in the Isle of Mull and The Devonshire Arms in the Yorkshire Dales, the hotel is described as having ‘a dreamy vista across the Atlantic’. The family-owned Atlantic is also applauded for its art deco style and travel writer Sophie Morris comments on the hotel’s ‘fabulous plot, surrounded by rolling headland and protected sand dunes’.
The Atlantic was the only hotel in the Channel Islands to have been featured and Atlantic Hotel owner Patrick Burke is understandably thrilled with the accolade: “The Independent newspaper’s ’50 Best’ list was judged by leading experts in the travel industry, including Tamara Herber-Percy who is the co-founder of Mr & Mrs Smith, and to be named amongst the very best in the country is a wonderful achievement. We are so proud of our unique location overlooking the stunning St Ouen’s Bay and delighted to be flying the flag for the Channel Islands in this prestigious list.”
