SERENGETI, Tanzania, 2019-Jan-22 — /Travel PR News/ — This month, Singita Faru Faru Lodge unveiled its new look, inspired by its wilderness setting along a riverside slope in the Serengeti. Drawing cues from traditional African craft, combined with the inspiration from Scandinavian simplicity, Singita Faru Faru Lodge embodies an effortless yet elegant feel, paying homage to its legacy of cutting-edge design.
The main living and dining areas are more expansive, with new enclosed dining and lounge areas creating shady places of retreat. An interactive kitchen will add a new dynamic to the dining experience, while open seating areas have been pulled forward, bringing guests closer to nature. New central areas have been added, including a Singita signature bar-deli, encouraging guests to enjoy drinks together, share a meal and marvel at the breathtaking views.
The lodge boasts a back-to-basics color palette of bone, ivory, nude and clay, which perfectly teams up with the rustic, authentic bush appeal. Added to that, the fresh, clean-lined modernity allows the animals and nature to take center stage. This minimalistic approach is less about the space itself and more about how one lives in it, using natural textures and materials to create rich, cozy layers throughout the lodge. The revitalized Singita Faru Faru Lodge exudes warmth, pureness of form and functionality. Touches of the clean, crisp geometry of African tribal pattern add to the contemporary feel and nods towards the evolution of modern design on the continent. The work of local artisans — from handcrafted furniture to unique fittings and bespoke objects — are displayed in all rooms and provide the perfect backdrop to this restrained design philosophy.
Singita Faru Faru Lodge is set in western Tanzania, where guests have exclusive access to 350,000 acres of the Serengeti Mara ecosystem; the renowned migratory route traversed by millions of wildebeest every year, which is protected by the dedicated conservation team at the Grumeti Fund. Since its inception in 2002, the Grumeti Fund has invested funding as well as the commitment, energy and expertise of its team into supporting community projects with Singita. Together, the two have spearheaded projects like the Anti-Poaching Canine Unit, Elephant Collaring Experience and the newly established Serengeti Girls Run. In this partnership, Singita and the Grumeti Fund apply the best of tourism and conservation to create programs that benefit the local communities, wildlife and land of the Serengeti.
