Inaugral Turkish Riviera Package Holiday Departs From Newquay Cornwall Airport

2013-04-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — Today at Newquay Cornwall Airport passengers embarked on the inaugural flight to the Turkish Riviera, marking the start of a series of package holidays.

In early January 2013 the airport agreed a new commercial venture with OSKA-TRAVEL, who are members of KENBA Group International, to operate on 4 consecutive weeks in April, flights to the Turkish Riviera, direct from Newquay Cornwall Airport.

The package holiday options available included a one week exclusive 5* luxury escorted coach tour taking in historical and cultural sites like Phaselis and Perga and an all inclusive offer at named hotels with prices starting at £249 and £379 respectively.

Al Titterington, Managing Director Newquay Cornwall Airport commented “We are extremely pleased to be offering additional package holidays to our schedule this year and bookings have shown Turkey to be a popular destination with Cornish residents.  The price provided by the tour operator is definitely appealing which has resulted in all flights nearly being booked to capacity.

I’m also pleased to announce that OSKA-TRAVEL will operate a further two dates to Turkey in November which we feel will be ideal for the public who can’t travel during the summer. We are also in discussions for a much wider programme of holiday packages for 2014 including new exciting destinations, which we hope to be able to announce in the next few months.

Commenting on his arrival at NQY Airport today, to see the first flight depart, Andreas Forsthuber, Director at OSKA-TRAVEL commented “Customer satisfaction is extremely important to us and we hope the people of the South West enjoy their holiday.  We are pleased to be working with the airport to offer off-season holidays at very competitive prices and look forward to planning future departures for next year.  This new route has proven to be popular and getting this off the ground so quickly has been successful due to a close working relationship with the airport staff and Newells Travel, who have been spreading the word throughout the county via their high street branches.”

To celebrate the first flight Al Titterington, Andreas Forsthuber and Roger Hawke, MD of Newells Travel all joined travellers at the passenger terminal and at the same time The Cornwall Channel filmed a short travel piece, which will be shown on Sky Channel 212 and Freesat 401.
