PREPARATIONS WELL UNDERWAY AT BAHRAIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR THE 2013 FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX

2013-04-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — In line with the Kingdom- wide preparations to host the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2013; Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) held the airport’s organisation committee meeting and discussed plans to accommodate visitors and cargo arriving in time for the race.

Final arrangements to receive and welcome VIP and VVIP guests were also reviewed. During the Formula 1 race, large numbers of visitors and cargo are expected to land in Bahrain International Airport (BIA) via regular, additional, and chartered flights.

BAC is committed to work hand-in-hand with its’ partners in the private and public sector to contribute towards the success of the internationally renowned sporting event. In addition to reflecting a positive image about the country, such arrangements set to streamline passengers’ and cargo movements during the eventful season in an efficient and timely manner.

On the sideline of the meeting, Vice President of Airport Operations at BAC Mr. Mohammed Mohamed Thamir Al Kaabi extended appreciation and gratitude to the concerned parties and authorities involved for their active participation in the meeting and for their valuable contribution in facilitating travel movements during the busy times.

Held at BAC headquarter, officials from the following organisations attended the meeting: Bahrain International Circuit, Civil Aviation Authority at the Ministry of Transport, Immigration and Passport Control as well as Airport police from the Ministry of Interior, Airport Operations at (BIA), Gulf Air, Bahrain Airport Services, Marhaba Bahrain, Bahrain Limo Company, and Bahrain Aviation Fuelling Company.

Taking place from 19th to 21st of April, the Formula 1 is among the leading events that stimulate the growth of the local tourism and travel sector, and puts Bahrain on the international map of prestigious events.

BAC is the authority responsible for operating and managing BIA as a world-class airport. As part of its’ operator role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s infrastructure and services. This set to improve the Kingdom‘s aviation capabilities; and to cater for the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of BIA stakeholders.
