ibis MUSIC showcases nine promising artists at Sziget Festival 2019

Paris, France, 2019-Aug-07 — /Travel PR News/ — Ibis’ new music program, ibis MUSIC, which launched to great fanfare in March 2019, culminates at Sziget Festival 2019, where nine up-and-coming artists will perform a unique showcase on the Europe Stage, presented by ibis. Having performed as part of ibis MUSIC’s in-hotel gig series, these nine promising artists – who represent each of ibis’ key regions – were selected to play by a judging panel made up of industry experts including representatives from ibis and its programme partners.

Bringing music discovery to Sziget Festival

Ibis engaged over 90 up-and-coming artists, across 17 countries globally, during the first phase of ibis MUSIC, hosting 44 gigs in ibis hotels. Working with Spotify, the world’s most popular music streaming service, in order to identify trends in local emerging music, ibis’ discovery of these artists provides guests and travelers an opportunity to connect with new music. At Sziget Festival, the Europe Stage, presented by ibis, will be a focal point of music discovery throughout the week-long festival. During the first day of the festival (7th August, headlined by Ed Sheeran), ibis will be taking over the stage programming, giving ibis MUSIC finalists the opportunity to perform in a back-to-back showcase throughout the day. Ibis’ nine up-and-coming artists include: Naë (France), Nxdia (United Kingdom), Gilsons (Brazil), Moglii (Germany),Maria Yfeu (Spain), Qaayel (Morocco), MVNSI (Belgium), So Flow (Poland), Glass Cristina (Mexico).

Providing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for ibis MUSIC 2019 Artist Winner

From the nine ibis MUSIC finalists performing, ibis will crown one lucky artist with the title of ibis MUSIC 2019 winner. Content captured of the finalist’s performances at the festival will be available for consumers to vote on via ibis’ dedicated music platform: www.ibis-music.com. The fans’ winner will receive a mentoring day courtesy of Sony Music UK’s 4th Floor Creative.

Vibrant, social, hang-out at the ibis Open Studio

Ibis’ recent brand transformation offers local residents and travelers a new experience in hospitality, creating vibrant social hubs encouraging interaction with the local community. The brand’s commitment to this new philosophy extends past the in-hotel experience, with ibis bringing a vibrant hang-out space, designed especially to increase social interaction, to Sziget Festival.

The ibis Open Studio – a nod to both the brand’s attitude of openness and connection with music – consists of a double-storey, open-sided, canopy structure, featuring multiple animations to encourage festival-goers to join in the fun with their friends. A bespoke music studio-inspired photo competition invites groups of friends to become the band, creating their own music photo to share to social media in order to win prizes. The ibis Mash Machine provides the opportunity to create unique music tracks to take home. And several musical games throughout the day, hosted by an ibis MC, intend to bring people together in moments of vibrant, sociable fun. Alongside bespoke furniture, purposefully designed to encourage social interaction, festival-goers can enjoy cold drinks from Charlie’s Corner, the brand’s F&B concept, from 11am until 2am every day.

Offering the ultimate night of comfort

In addition to the ibis Open Studio, ibis will be offering festival-goers the chance to win a night of ultimate comfort in ibis’ exclusive onsite accommodation: The Loft. Throughout the festival, ibis will be selecting the best photos from the ibis Open Studio-inspired photo competition to give six friends the chance to leave their tents behind and enjoy a night of comfort in The Loft. A premium onsite experience, providing hot showers, comfy beds and a full-service cleaning team, the prize offers a taste of what ibis has to offer in destinations around the globe.
