Hong Kong, 2014-10-27 — /Travel PR News/ — As part of its continuous commitment to the environment, Hotel ICON has purchased BMW’s first zero emissions vehicle the i3. The BMWi3 is the Hotel’s first green vehicle that will launch in November 2014. Guests who book direct in the hotel will get a chance to win a free departure transfer in the first two weeks of the car’s launch.
Electric vehicles are perfect for driving the city and it is engineered to be the perfect car for the urban environment. The chauffeured BMWi3 can be used for site seeing, shopping trips or travelling around for meetings around Kowloon and Hong Kong. Guests can go wherever they want to go within the city limits.
“Not only is Hotel ICON committed to reducing carbon impact, but we understand the new luxury Millennials are a new breed of travellers that are very environmentally aware,” said Richard Hatter, General Manager of Hotel ICON. “We recognise that our vehicles impact on the environment and this is only the first step. We are looking at purchasing and further expanding with electric shuttle buses to follow. ”
The innovative BMW i3 is not only emission free, but the exterior is designed using high-quality, sustainable materials. It features carbon-fiber reinforced plastic to improve the vehicle’s energy consumption and is an intelligent form of travel on the road.
