HobbyFest Celebrates William P. Hobby Airport with Houston on May 4, 2013

HOUSTON, 2013-04-22 — /travelprnews.com/ — Join the Houston Airport System on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for HobbyFest as hundreds of people gather for a family-friendly day near the tarmac at William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) on the East Ramp. Admission is free with non-perishable food items. The non-perishable food items will help benefit the Interfaith Chapel and local charity.

HobbyFest Activities

As a favorite activity, HobbyFest is a having a Bar-B-Que Cook-Off that allows individuals or teams to participate with entry fees that begin at $25. More details are available at fly2houston.com/HobbyFest.

Many family-friendly activities provide an outstanding day of fun. The event offers numerous entertainment opportunities that include: Nintendo Video Game Bus, live music provided by a local DJ, moonwalks, face painting, Mad Science Exhibit, balloon artist and Boy Scouts of America Aviation Badge. In addition, attendees can observe a variety of classic static aircraft displays. As an extra treat, visitors can tour the inside of a Southwest Airlines Boeing-737 for free.

Another popular HobbyFest attraction is a special drawing, which serves as a fundraiser for local charities. To participate in the drawing, simply make a donation and you could win one of the following prizes: JetBlue and Southwest Roundtrip airline tickets, a Flight Safety for Flight Simulator Demo, Houston Symphony tickets, a certificate to stay at The Houstonian Resort Hotel with complimentary breakfast, Children’s Museum admission, Alley Theatre tickets, Pappas Restaurants gift cards and Flight Safety memorabilia.

All proceeds benefit the Interfaith Chapel, local charity and the scholarship fund.
