Albania: Insider tip for beachgoing holidaymakers and nature lovers
Tirana is the capital of the southern European country of Albania and is at the heart of the country’s cultural, political and economic life. One of the city’s best known attractions is the central Skanderbeg Square, with a statue of the national hero, Skanderbeg, on horseback, along with the National Museum of History.

Located in the west of the country, Tirana is the ideal starting point for a trip to the Albanian coast, stretching along the Adriatic and Ionian Seas. Compared to the neighbouring countries, already well developed tourist destinations, Albania’s seaside resorts are an insider tip for sun lovers, with long beaches, clear water and a Mediterranean climate. The mountains in the north of the country, along with a total of 14 national parks, are ideal for hikers, nature lovers and outdoor sports fans. Ecotourism is on the rise in Albania too, becoming ever more popular.
