Halifax Stanfield Debuts Fifth CT-Equipped Security Lane and Phases Out YHZ Express for Faster Screening

In partnership with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), the airport has completed an expansion of its Domestic/International security checkpoint, adding a fifth screening lane equipped with CATSA’s latest CT X-ray technology.

With the new CT-enabled lane now operational, passengers can leave permitted liquids (up to 100 mL), aerosols, gels, medical devices, and large electronics like laptops inside their carry-ons—significantly speeding up the screening process. This installation marks the first phase of a broader rollout that will bring CT scanners to all five Domestic/International lanes at Halifax Stanfield.
