WIESBADEN, Germany, 2019-Jan-14 — /Travel PR News/ — In the period from January to November 2018, the number of overnight stays increased by 4% to 447.9 million compared to the same period of the previous year. Of these, 81.5 million were foreign guests (+ 5%) and 366.4 million domestic guests (+ 4%).
In November 2018, there were 31.0 million overnight stays by domestic and foreign guests in the accommodation establishments in Germany. As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) according to preliminary results, this was an increase of 5% compared to November 2017. The number of overnight stays of guests from abroad rose by 4% to 5.7 million. Domestic overnight stays increased by 5% to 25.3 million. From January to November 2018, the number of overnight stays increased by 4% year-on-year to 447.9 million. Of these, 81.5 million were foreign guests (+ 5%) and 366.4 million domestic guests (+ 4%).
The number of overnight stays is expected to reach a new record of around 477 million in 2018 (+ 4%). This preliminary result is a forecast based on the values available for the period January to November 2018 and the December results for the years 2007 to 2017.
