Gatwick Airport announces Wilson James as its preferred supplier of Special Assistance Services

  • New preferred provider will deliver high quality service for passengers through investment in people, training and equipment
  • Decision made by Gatwick and partners including Airline Operators Committee and public experts on the airport’s Passenger Advisory Group
  • Staff from existing supplier expected to transfer to the new provider
  • Gatwick and its airlines have defined new improved service standards

London, 2017-Oct-13 — /Travel PR News/ — Gatwick Airport, in collaboration with its airport partners – including the Airline Operators Committee (AOC) and public experts on the airport’s Passenger Advisory Group – have selected Wilson James as its preferred supplier of Special Assistance Services for passengers with restricted mobility and/ or hidden disabilities.

The firm secured preferred supplier status following a tender process and was chosen for its passion for service and its commitment to invest in the creation of a new and differentiating service culture for its colleagues.

Contracts have still to be signed but a new provider is scheduled to start supplying Special Assistance Services at Gatwick on February 1, 2018.

No job losses are expected as a result of any change of contract as employees of OCS – the current service provider at Gatwick – will transfer to Wilson James.

Nikki Barton, Head of Terminals and Passenger Services at Gatwick, said:
