Veteran hotelier brings international experience to first role in the United States
Scottsdale, U.S.A., 2022-May-26 — /Travel PR News/ — Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North announces the appointment of 14-year Four Seasons veteran Rita Vale as the new Director of Food and Beverage. Rita joins the property from Four Seasons Hotel Macao, where she most recently served as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage.
“Rita’s extensive food and beverage knowledge is a welcome addition to our Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale team,” says General Manager Kelley Moreton. “Her international experience – combined with a passion for innovative cuisine, wine, spirits and mixology – will help us continue to elevate our food and beverage experience on property.”
Born in Macao, China, Vale and her family moved to Portugal when she was 10 years old; she returned to her native country 10 years later to begin her career in hospitality, inspired by her parents’ careers as restaurateurs. During her tenure at Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Vale held such roles as Room Service Manager, Chief Steward, Restaurant Manager, and most recently Assistant Director of Food and Beverage.
“Four Seasons Hotel Macao is an ever-evolving property that had so many new projects and restaurant openings,” says Vale. “It allowed me as a person to push ahead in my career, trying new things and giving me the chance to touch every area in Food and Beverage, from in-room dining to fine dining to all-day dining and banquets. That opportunity was invaluable in my career growth and to where I am now.”
“What I love the most in the hospitality environment is that I can expose myself every day to different job duties, menus and to a nonstop learning environment. I was always very curious about things and that is what led me to growth in my career. Four Seasons just made my passion stronger.”
This quest for knowledge led Vale to her most recent endeavuor: she just completed her MBA at Nebrija University (Madrid, Spain), specializing in Business Administration in Hospitality. In Scottsdale, Vale looks forward to providing the best service in the Valley enhanced by inspired and creative cuisine.
While Vale herself is of Portuguese decent, she likes to consider herself a “citizen of the world.” Her husband Silva is a Brazilian national whom she met in China; they are the proud parents of Ester (8 years old) and Nathan (5 years old), who both speak Portuguese, Cantonese and English. The family is thrilled with their move to Scottsdale, and anticipates many outdoor family adventures and time spent exploring the local culinary scene.
