Flughafen Zürich AG COO Stefan Conrad to assume the role of CEO Latin America for Flughafen Zürich AG

ZURICH, Switzerland, 2017-Apr-14 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chief Operating Officer of Flughafen Zürich AG, Stefan Conrad, will assume the management of the activities of Flughafen Zürich AG in Latin America as CEO. He steps down as Chief Operating Officer and member of the management board of Flughafen Zürich AG at the end of September 2017. This move underscores the importance of international activities for Flughafen Zürich AG.

With the acceptance of the bid for the expansion and operation of the international airport in Florianópolis in the south of Brazil, Flughafen Zürich AG took another important step in its international business development. In order to ensure the management of the activities in Latin America, Flughafen Zürich AG will strengthen its presence on site. Stefan Conrad, today’s COO of Flughafen Zürich AG, will assume the role of CEO Latin America for Flughafen Zürich AG and lead the activities of the airport operator in Florianópolis, Belo Horizonte, Curaçao, Bogotá and Chile on site in Latin America.

On June 1, 2010, Stefan Conrad was appointed Chief Operating Officer and member of the management board of Flughafen Zürich AG, where he has been responsible for the aviation division since then. In his function, he is responsible for all aviation issues at Flughafen Zürich AG and is also the airport manager in charge.

In his time as COO, Stefan Conrad led the aviation division with 650 employees and was able to ensure the operation of the airport on a high quality level. Since 2010, important infrastructures such as Dock B, centralized security check, terminal 2 and various stand expansions have been put into operation smoothly. In the same period, the sectoral aviation infrastructure plan (SAIP), as a federal spatial planning tool for airport development, has been continually advanced.

Stefan Conrad is leaving the management board of Flughafen Zürich AG as a result of the change to Latin America by the end of September 2017. Flughafen Zürich AG has issued the position as COO and will inform about the succession in due course.

The board of directors and the management board would like to thank Stefan Conrad for his competent and above-average commitment as COO at Zurich airport and also for his willingness to use his aviation expertise as CEO Latin America for Flughafen Zürich AG in Latin America.
