Madrid, Spain, 2013-10-14 — /travelprnews.com/ — In September Iberia equalled its own best punctuality rating, with 90% of its flight on time, according to the monthly report of the FlightStats consulting group, winning the airline 7th place amongst international carriers.
By networks, the rating came to 96% within Spain, 90% elsewhere in Europe, and 80% for overseas flights, a new record for the Spanish airline.
Iberia’s overall punctuality rating remained above 88% for the entire summer season.
Punctuality is one of the qualities most appreciated by customers, and to improve it further was has been one of the aims of the company’s Transformation Plan. New initiatives ranged from changes in flight timetables to the review of all pre-flight procedures.
The improvement in punctuality, along with the new cabin interiors of the long-haul fleet, is being reflected in customer quality perception and satisfaction survey results, which are nearing record highs.
Iberia Express, the company’s low-cost, short- and medium-haul unit, reached 95% punctuality in September, earning it third place in Europe.
