The inaugural flight, EK213 from Miami, was greeted with traditional Colombian dance at El Dorado International Airport, where a delegation of VIPs including ambassadors and aviation officials gathered to commemorate the occasion. Led by Emirates executives Nabil Sultan and Salem Obaidalla, the ceremony highlighted the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and passenger experience in the region. Operating daily via Miami with a Boeing 777 aircraft, Emirates becomes the first airline to offer First Class services on the popular Miami-Bogotá route, providing travelers with premium amenities and comfort. The new service not only strengthens air links between the UAE and Colombia but also facilitates seamless connectivity to global destinations, supported by a recent codeshare agreement with Avianca. Passengers can now enjoy the convenience of booking itineraries on both airlines with a single ticket, benefiting from competitive fares and a hassle-free baggage policy. With its commitment to providing exceptional inflight and on-ground services, including regionally-inspired dining and entertainment, Emirates aims to elevate the travel experience for passengers flying between Miami and Bogotá. (PRESS RELEASE) Dubai, UAE, 2024-Jun-6 — /Travel PR News/ — In a milestone event marking its expansion into South America, Emirates has commenced operations to Bogotá, the vibrant capital of Colombia. This launch marks the airline’s fourth destination in South America and brings the total number of destinations served across the Americas to 19.

The inaugural flight, EK213 from Miami, was greeted with jubilant festivities at gate A14 of El Dorado International Airport. Traditional Colombian dancers welcomed the arriving passengers amidst a celebratory atmosphere. A delegation of distinguished guests, including His Excellency Luis Miguel Merlano Hoyos, Colombian Ambassador to the UAE; His Excellency Mohamed Alshamsi, UAE Ambassador to Colombia; Sergio Paris Mendoza, Director General of Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia; and Natali Leal, OPAIN General Manager, partook in a cake-cutting ceremony and symbolic gift exchange to mark the occasion.

Leading the ceremony upon arrival were Emirates executives Nabil Sultan, Executive Vice President Passenger Sales and Country Management, and Salem Obaidalla, Senior Vice President Commercial Operations – Americas. The event was attended by international media, who joined from Dubai and Miami, along with Scott Lantz, Area Manager Mexico and Colombia, and various dignitaries from Colombia.

Operating via Miami, the daily service to Bogotá is facilitated by a Boeing 777 aircraft, offering premium passenger services. Emirates proudly introduces First Class services on the Miami-Bogotá route, a first for any airline.

Post the warm welcome ceremony, Emirates showcased its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in a three-class configuration, featuring eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class, and 304 spacious seats in Economy Class.

Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ EVP Passenger Sales and Country Management, expressed excitement about the addition of Bogotá to the network, citing its significance as a leisure and business hub. He emphasized the role of the new flights in enhancing trade flows and market access between Colombia and the UAE.

Sergio Paris Mendoza, Director General of Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia, hailed the connection between Colombia and the Middle East, facilitated by Emirates’ services, as a pivotal moment for inbound tourism and trade.

Natali Leal, OPAIN General Manager, extended a warm welcome to Emirates, highlighting the airport’s role as a key air terminal in Latin America and the gateway to Colombia.

Emirates’ daily flight EK213 departs Dubai at 0215hrs, arriving in Miami at 1005hrs, before proceeding to Bogotá and concluding its journey in Dubai.

The partnership between Emirates and Avianca, through a recent codeshare agreement, offers enhanced connectivity for travelers flying between Dubai and Colombia, with convenient access to three points in Colombia.

Emirates’ commitment to providing superior inflight and on-ground services ensures a memorable travel experience for passengers. With a focus on comfort, regionally-inspired dining, and world-class entertainment, Emirates aims to elevate the travel experience on the Bogotá-Miami route.

Passengers traveling between Dubai and Bogotá are advised to meet entry regulations for the United States and hold required documents due to immigration procedures in Miami. Colombian and UAE citizens can enjoy visa-free entry for up to 90 days in Dubai and Bogotá, respectively, under reciprocal visa arrangements between the two countries.
