The new service also supports broader connectivity across North America through partner airlines and complements EVA Air’s launch of a new 9-day Eastern U.S. group tour from Taiwan, reinforcing the carrier’s role as a key link between Asia and the Americas.
(PRESS RELEASE) LUZHU DISTRICT, Taiwan, 2026-Feb-11 — /Travel PR News/ — EVA Air has announced the launch of a new nonstop service between Taipei and Washington, D.C., set to commence on 26 June 2026, with four weekly flights. The addition of this route expands the airline’s North American footprint to ten gateways, two of which will feature its latest fourth-generation Premium Economy cabin. With a total of 98 weekly flights to North America, EVA Air will become the carrier with the most destinations and the most extensive network linking Taiwan to the continent. Tickets for the new service are already available via the airline’s official website.
Clay Sun, President of EVA Air, emphasized that North America remains a strategically important market for the airline. He noted that following last year’s introduction of service to Dallas–Fort Worth, which made EVA Air the only Asian carrier serving two destinations in Texas, the new Washington, D.C. route further strengthens the airline’s presence on the U.S. East Coast. According to Sun, the capital region represents a key political, economic, and corporate hub, and the new service will provide passengers with more flexible, efficient, and comfortable travel options between Taiwan and the United States.
The Taipei–Washington, D.C. route will be operated using Boeing 787-9 aircraft configured with three cabins: Royal Laurel Class, Economy Class, and the airline’s newly introduced fourth-generation Premium Economy Class. EVA Air’s Premium Economy product features industry-leading seat pitch and a cabin design intended to bridge the gap between traditional economy and business class. The airline positions this as a refined travel experience that enhances its overall three-class service proposition. Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from Taipei, with return services departing Washington, D.C. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Washington, D.C. is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States and forms part of the broader National Capital Region, a major population and economic center. As the seat of U.S. government and a hub for multinational corporations, international organizations, and non-governmental institutions, the city generates significant demand for premium air travel. In addition, its cultural institutions, historic landmarks, and world-renowned museums make it a prominent destination for academic, cultural, and leisure travel.
Chryssa Westerlund, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, welcomed EVA Air’s arrival at Washington Dulles International Airport. She highlighted that the new nonstop flight will substantially reduce travel times between Taipei and Washington, D.C., while also offering passengers convenient onward connections throughout Asia via Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. The route is expected to contribute more than USD 61 million in annual economic impact to the National Capital region and reinforces Dulles’ role as the primary international gateway to Washington, D.C.
With the introduction of the Washington, D.C. service, EVA Air’s North American network will include ten nonstop gateways: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Chicago, Vancouver, Toronto, and Washington, D.C. Through partnerships with Star Alliance members such as Air Canada, United Airlines, Avianca, and Copa Airlines, as well as cooperation agreements with Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, Hawaiian Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and WestJet, the airline provides access to more than 200 destinations across the Americas.
EVA Air is also launching a new group travel product in Taiwan titled “9-Day Eastern U.S. Highlights,” developed in collaboration with leading travel agencies. The itinerary leverages both the new Washington, D.C. route and existing New York service, connecting travelers to destinations including Baltimore, Philadelphia, the Amish countryside, Atlantic City, and New York City. The program is designed to offer an efficient and curated way to explore the U.S. East Coast and is available exclusively to passengers departing from Taiwan.
For travelers from North America, EVA Air offers extensive connectivity across Asia via its Taipei hub, linking major cities throughout the region. By combining a strategically located hub with award-winning service, the airline continues to position itself as a premium long-haul carrier between Asia and the Americas.
