Ethiopian Airlines first in Africa started regular flights to Incheon Airport Korea

2013-07-16 — /travelprnews.com/ — On June 19th, 21:05 Korean time, Ethiopian Airlines (ET), one of the biggest airlines in Africa, has started a new Incheon-Hong Kong-Addis Ababa air route as the first African-nation airline.

Ethiopian Airlines operates between Incheon and Addis Ababa (via Hong Kong) four times per week (Mon., Wed., Fri., Sun.) using B767- 300 and B787-800, which have a passenger capacity of 235 and 270 respectively.

In case of Africa, Korean Air is operating Incheon-Cairo flight and Incheon-Nairobi, Kenya direct flight (3 times/week).

This time the operation of Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has a great meaning since it is the first African country’s airline launched at Incheon Airport. Especially, since it is expected that this event will greatly contribute to the strengthening of the future long-distance network of Incheon Airport as well as facilitating the demand of tourism and business relations between South Korea and Africa.

President and CEO of Incheon Airport Jung, Chang-Soo said “Depending on the opening of a new air route with Ethiopian Airlines, the first African-nation airline, the contribution to forming a long-distance network of Incheon Airport will be huge.
