(NEWS) LAS VEGAS, 2026-Mar-16 — /Travel PR News/ — Just beyond the neon glow of Las Vegas, a trio of desert destinations is inviting travelers to discover a different side of southern Nevada this spring. The neighboring communities of Boulder City, Laughlin, and Mesquite are highlighting a mix of outdoor adventure, live entertainment, and seasonal events designed to showcase the region’s natural landscapes and relaxed desert atmosphere.
Based on details shared in regional tourism announcements, these destinations are positioning themselves as spring getaways for travelers looking to pair scenic exploration with festivals, performances, and outdoor recreation.
Boulder City blends desert adventure with small-town charm
Located roughly 20 miles from Las Vegas, Boulder City offers visitors easy access to the dramatic scenery surrounding Lake Mead National Recreation Area and the iconic Hoover Dam. The expansive recreation area, the largest reservoir in the United States, attracts outdoor enthusiasts year-round with kayaking routes, hiking trails, camping areas and scenic drives through the Mojave Desert.
Adventure operators offer guided paddling trips through Black Canyon and along the Colorado River, while the region’s desert terrain also supports mountain biking, horseback riding and ATV excursions to nearby national parks.
For travelers interested in history and local culture, the Nevada State Railroad Museum Boulder City offers guided rail bike tours along historic tracks once used during the construction of Hoover Dam. The town also features an art mural walking tour showcasing local sculptures and street art.
Seasonal events add to the spring lineup. The Boulder City Spring Jamboree will return in early May, bringing artisan vendors, family activities and train rides to the town’s historic downtown parks.
Laughlin pairs riverfront adventure with major entertainment
Further south along the Colorado River, Laughlin continues to build its reputation as a lively entertainment hub with a strong outdoor component. The riverfront city will host a range of performances this spring at venues such as Laughlin Event Center and Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater Harrah’s Laughlin, featuring artists and comedians including Los Tigres del Norte, Lainey Wilson, Los Lonely Boys, and comedian Matt Rife.
The city will also host the CINCH World’s Toughest Rodeo Tour, which returns to Laughlin with expanded pre-show activities and behind-the-scenes arena experiences.
Outdoor recreation remains a central part of the destination’s appeal. Visitors can explore the Colorado River by kayak, jet boat or dinner cruise, while the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Trail offers a 10-mile hiking route that follows the river through desert landscapes to the base of Davis Dam.
Mesquite highlights golf, festivals and desert landscapes
About 90 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Mesquite is known for its golf courses and outdoor adventure. Courses such as Wolf Creek Golf Club, CasaBlanca Golf Club, and Conestoga Golf Club attract players with dramatic elevation changes and sweeping desert views.
The city’s spring calendar includes the CasaBlanca II-Man Golf Tournament, scheduled for late May, and the Mesquite Spring Festival, which brings live entertainment, crafts and family activities to the Mesquite Recreation Center.
Beyond the greens, visitors can explore the rugged landscapes of Gold Butte National Monument, a remote desert region known for striking red sandstone formations and ancient geological features.
More unusual experiences can also be found nearby, including animal encounters at Camel Safari and skydiving adventures with Skydive Mesquite, which offers aerial views of the Mojave Desert.
Together, Boulder City, Laughlin and Mesquite present a quieter alternative to Las Vegas—one where desert trails, riverfront scenery and small-town festivals offer travelers a chance to experience the broader landscapes and communities that define southern Nevada.
