Emirates Brings Diwali Festivities to the Skies with Special Treats and Entertainment for Passengers

The airline’s Diwali celebration extends across all classes and lounges on routes to and from cities like Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Cochin, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Mumbai.

Passengers traveling during this festive period will be treated to a variety of traditional Diwali sweets and snacks. In Emirates’ Premium Economy and Economy Class, customers will enjoy the classic motichoor laddu with their hot meal—a sweet, saffron and cardamom-infused treat made from deep-fried, syrup-soaked lentil balls. First and Business Class travelers will be offered a decadent Pista roll, made from ground cashew nuts, spiced fudge, pistachios, and adorned with edible silver leaf.

In Emirates’ lounges, the Diwali celebrations continue with a wide range of festive foods and beverages. Customers in the First Class Lounges in Dubai can enjoy dishes like firangi chaat, zaatar kebab with Kashmiri pulao, and lamb rogan josh, complemented by sweet treats such as saffron-infused ghewar, gulkand kulfi, and kesari rasmalai. A special Diwali-themed cocktail, Reborn—featuring a blend of gin, lime juice, spiced jamun syrup, and ginger ale—is also available, alongside the Iced Masala mocktail made with masala chai and cardamom.

In the Business Class Lounges, guests can enjoy savory bites like vegetable samosas, Amritsari chole, and dal kachori, accompanied by a Tamarind Cooler cocktail, crafted with rum, lime, and tamarind. Emirates lounges in Cape Town and Johannesburg will also join the festivities, offering Indian sweets like jalebi, ladoo, and burfi, catering to the region’s Indian diaspora.

Throughout their journey, passengers can immerse themselves in the Diwali spirit with Emirates’ award-winning ice entertainment system, featuring a curated selection of 215 Indian films, including Bollywood hits like Jawan, Tiger 3, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The system also offers regional films in nine Indian languages and over 45 Indian music playlists.
