After honing his craft in some of Italy’s most famous kitchens, the 26-year-old chef from Caserta, has been delighting Hong Kong diners’ palates with one of their favourite Western cuisines. Grissini has specially created a menu for Dragonair passengers featuring dishes that will allow them to savour their favourite Italian flavours such as traditional eggplant parmigiana and fresh Pugliese burrata cheese. The homemade potato gnocchi featuring smoked buffalo Provola cheese and veal check is a popular dish loved by Grissini’s diners. Served with buffalo Provola cheese freshly flown from Italy, the dish was created to honor Chef Alessandro’s hometown, which is known for its beautiful buffalo milk.
On flights from Hong Kong to selected destinations, passengers will enjoy a selection of dishes created by Kwai-kai Lo, head chef of The Chinese Restaurant. For travellers who are always on the road, Chef Lo specially created the steamed prawn and glutinous rice with fried garlic dish which is meant to remind them of their favourite home cooked meals, The fried garlic and rice pairing is a classic home recipe of Hong Kong families. Dragonair passengers will also have the chance to try one of The Chinese Restaurant’s signature desserts – baked egg custard tart with glutinous dumpling. This all-in-one creation features the best local flavours such as egg tarts, glutinous dumplings stuffed with custard and pineapple buns
The new menus will be available on rotation onboard the Dragonair flights, and dishes will be prepared with all the care and attention that each chef would use in their own kitchen. In addition, the brands have sourced select ingredients from around the world, especially those that support local businesses.
In view of the travellers’ desire for new culinary adventures during their journey nowadays, Dragonair and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts have been working hard to set new standards for outstanding customer experiences. A great deal of effort by both companies has gone to the new inflight menu, which is set to enhance the overall inflight experience for Dragonair passengers.
