EDINBURGH, Scotland, 2016-Dec-23 — /Travel PR News/ — A luxurious Victorian villa set on Scotland’s west coast has achieved the highest Quality Assurance (QA) grading from VisitScotland.

Set within extensive private grounds and with uninterrupted views over Loch Linnhe, Crolinnhe Guesthouse has attained a 5* Bed & Breakfast QA award from the national tourism organisation.

The property has three five star suites – the Linnhe, the Nevis and the Lundy – all designed to provide guests with a unique experience and allowing them to enjoy the scenic views of the Highlands. The views and serenity at the property even helped inspire Scottish author Mairi Hedderwick for her children’s books, Katie Morag.

The property also includes a dining room where breakfast is served, a drawing room where guests can relax and enjoy a complimentary sherry or Ben Nevis reserve whisky; and an outdoor garden terrace.

Lochaber, the Outdoor Capital of the UK, is an area of outstanding natural beauty which has always captured the imagination of its visitors. From stunning natural and historic landscapes, captivating wildlife and delicious food and drink, it attracts visitors from around the world every year.

Crolinnhe owner Sophie Edwards said:

“I am delighted to receive my Five Star award which has confirmed my aim to provide luxury bed and breakfast facilities with a warm and friendly atmosphere for all my guests that meets the high standards of care and service expected from Visit Scotland Quality Assurance, from the time of booking a reservation to arrival and throughout their stay at Crolinnhe Guest House.

“The award has given me the confidence that I am helping to provide a truly memorable experience for all of my guests whilst they enjoy their stay in the Outdoor Capital of the UK, Fort William – a real gem in the Highlands of Scotland.”

Developed and improved for over 30 years, VisitScotland’s Quality Assurance (QA) schemes are world-leading and provide a trusted, independent and impartial source of information for visitors. They allow businesses not just to meet visitor expectations, but exceed them.

QA can open the door to new customers. It is a powerful marketing tool and works well with online review sites in using an independent perspective to measure visitor experience against tried and tested criteria, so visitors know exactly what to expect.

Scott Armstrong, VisitScotland Regional Partnerships Director, said:

I would like to offer my congratulations to Sophie for attaining this award. It is fantastic to see the Lochaber tourism offering enhanced by such quality and luxury accommodation.

“Reaching such a high standard is vital to the tourism industry as a whole and I hope it inspires others to strive for such results. It is vital that everyone involved in tourism works together to offer visitors a fantastic experience when visiting and staying in the Highlands.

“Our Quality Assurance scheme helps businesses to reach their full potential and truly shine. The scheme is about more than just the ‘stars’ on the door – it’s about the entire visitor experience, about investing in your business and making it as economically sustainable as it can possibly be.”
