(PRESS RELEASE) VERONA, Italy, 2026-Feb-26 — /Travel PR News/ — Swissport International has expanded its airport hospitality operations in Italy with the opening of the Catullo Lounge by Aspire at Verona Airport (VRN), offering travellers a new premium pre-flight environment in the airport’s recently developed terminal. The lounge began welcoming guests on 16 February 2026, marking another step in Swissport’s continued growth in the Italian market.
Operated by Swissport’s Aspire Executive Lounges brand, the new facility is located on the ground floor beyond the security checkpoint and provides passengers with a quiet and comfortable space before departure. The lounge has been developed in cooperation with SAVE Group, the operator of Verona Catullo Airport and manager of Italy’s North-East Airport Hub, building on an existing partnership between the two organizations.
The Catullo Lounge by Aspire offers seating for 95 guests in an environment designed to combine comfort, privacy and productivity. The space features soft lighting and views of the airport apron, creating a relaxing atmosphere aligned with Aspire’s “Wait Wonderful” hospitality concept.
Marina Bottelli, Managing Director of Swissport Italia, noted that the opening strengthens Swissport’s collaboration with SAVE Group while enhancing the airport experience in Verona through an upgraded hospitality offering. She highlighted the company’s continued investment in Italy across premium lounge services as well as ground handling and cargo operations, following the earlier launch of an Aspire lounge in Venice.
The lounge operates daily between 05:30 and 21:00 and provides complimentary refreshments throughout the day. Guests can choose from a selection of food and beverages that includes regional Veneto specialties and wines, traditional Italian dishes and vegetarian options. A barista service is available for freshly prepared coffee and tea.
Additional facilities include shower rooms, quiet areas, workspaces and high-speed wireless internet access, allowing travellers to relax or work comfortably before boarding.
Access to the Catullo Lounge by Aspire is available to passengers travelling in Business Class and to members of programs including Priority Pass, DragonPass, MileonAir and Dreamfolks. Entry can also be purchased directly at a price of €42 per visit, subject to availability.
David Collyer, Global Senior Vice President of Executive Lounges at Swissport International, emphasized Aspire’s focus on delivering high-quality hospitality experiences and noted the company’s long-standing expertise in airport lounge services. He expressed confidence that cooperation with SAVE Group and Verona Catullo Airport will provide travellers with an enjoyable pre-flight experience.
The launch forms part of Swissport’s broader strategy to expand and modernize its global lounge portfolio. Aspire currently serves approximately 6.4 million passengers annually through a network of flagship, partner and alliance lounges as well as facilities linked to airlines and financial institutions.
By the end of 2025, Swissport operated 93 lounges worldwide, with further expansion planned. New locations scheduled to open during 2026 include lounges in Stockholm, Geneva, Calgary, Manchester and Vilnius, bringing the total confirmed network to 106 lounges.
