Calgary Zoo's Garden Gallery comes alive with the arrival of butterflies this spring
CALGARY, 2014-03-27 — /Travel PR News/ — Escape the lingering winter to the tropical oasis of the ENMAX Conservatory’s Garden Gallery at the Calgary Zoo.
The Garden Gallery is alive with the fluttering of butterflies, just in time for spring.
Our first delivery of chrysalis arrived earlier this month all the way from Costa Rica and included 130 chrysalis representing 27 different species. Visitors have the opportunity to witness the captivating process of emergence as each chrysalis moves through the stages of its lifecycle before taking flight in the gallery. By June, upwards of 500 longwings, blue morphos, giant owls and more will glide through the Garden Gallery at any given time.
As the days grow longer, the nectar plants will soak in the sunshine revealing their colourful blooms, transforming the garden into a lush floral environment.
