BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport welcomed inaugural service from new carrier Frontier Airlines

New airline for BWI Marshall starts flights to Denver; service to Orlando scheduled for April start

Baltimore, MD, 2019-Mar-19 — /Travel PR News/ — Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport today (March 15,2019) welcomed the start of service from Frontier Airlines, a new carrier for the airport. Frontier began flights today between BWI Marshall and Denver, Colorado. The airline will add service between BWI Marshall and Orlando, Florida starting on April 11, 2019.

“We are pleased to welcome Frontier Airlines, which offers new opportunities for tourism and business development,” said Ricky Smith, Executive Director of BWI Marshall Airport. “A growing airline, Frontier offers excellent low fare service for local residents and visitors. New flights affirm the strength of our market, which remains very attractive for airline service.”

Frontier will initially offer four weekly roundtrip flights between BWI Marshall Airport and Denver International Airport. The airline will operate the service using its Airbus A320 aircraft. Frontier will begin three roundtrip flights per week between BWI Marshall and Orlando, Florida on April 11, 2019.

Passenger traffic has grown steadily at BWI Marshall Airport in recent years. 2018 was the fourth-straight record year for BWI Marshall, with passenger traffic increasing 2.9 percent to 27.1 million passengers. BWI Marshall remains the busiest airport in the region.
