Bristol Airport: Thomson and First Choice increase capacity from Bristol Airport and introduce four new routes

Thomson and First Choice increase capacity from Bristol Airport and introduce four new routes.

Bristol, UK, 2014-04-29 — /Travel PR News/ — Thomson and First Choice are pleased to announce that in summer 2015 they will be increasing capacity at Bristol Airport through the introduction of four new routes to Santorini, Greece; Pula, Croatia; Marrakech, Morocco; and Dubrovnik, Croatia. The plans also include the addition of further weekly flights for existing routes Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt and Heraklion, Greece bringing the total destinations on offer from Bristol Airport to 25.

The move to introduce these routes is part of the UK’s largest tour operator’s strategy to ensure customers across the UK can fly from their local airport and stay at the best hotels in some of the most exciting destinations. The new routes went on sale on the 24th April.

Not only will customers from the West Country now be able to fly to some fantastic destinations, but they will also have the opportunity to choose varying durations – not just the standard seven and 14 night stays.

Local sun seekers will also be able to join Thomson Cruises’ brand new itineraries from Dubrovnik with the introduction of the new flights to Croatia. They will have the opportunity to sail on Thomson Celebration on itineraries such as Grecian Legends and Croatian Classics as well as taking advantage of the extensive cruise and stay programme on offer.

Customers travelling from Bristol will now also have access to some of Thomson and First Choice’s most popular flagship hotels. These include Thomson Couples Kalamota Island Resort on the private island of Kolocep close to Dubrovnik, which is new to the Thomson programme this summer.

Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for Thomson and First Choice, said of the move:

“Adding additional capacity from Bristol and the introduction of four brand new routes demonstrates our commitment to Bristol Airport and the local area, and following the success of similar routes across a number of regional airports, we know that the demand is there.

“Expanding access to our portfolio of destinations and hotels is a key part of our overall strategy and we hope that this move will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”

Shaun Browne, Aviation Director at Bristol Airport, said:“We are delighted with Thomson’s announcement of new flights for summer 2015 from Bristol Airport. The introduction of four new routes to Pula, Santorini, Dubrovnik and Marrakech are very welcome and provides exciting new destinations for passengers in the region to visit. Dubrovnik also adds a fly-cruise option, while additional flights to Sharm el Sheikh and Heraklion offer a wider choice with more flexible stay lengths for passengers across the South West and Wales.

“The increase in destinations is also great news for travel agents across the region, who regularly tell us that their customers want to fly from Bristol Airport.”
