Boardwalk Scores Another Golden Ticket

SANTA CRUZ, CA, 2012-09-10 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has again been recognized as the “Best Seaside Park” in the world by the amusement industry. The historic California amusement park was honored during the 2012 Golden Ticket Awards, considered the Academy Awards of the amusement industry. TheBoardwalk has won the Golden Ticket Award for “Best Seaside Park” every year since 2007.

Marq Lipton, the Boardwalk’s vice president of marketing and sales, accepted the award today, during a ceremony at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Dolly Parton added star power to this year’s event, accepting awards for her  theme park and entertaining attendees.

Winners were selected by amusement park experts and enthusiasts from around the world in a poll conducted by Amusement Today, the industry’s leading trade publication.

During the award ceremony it was also announced that the 2013 Golden TicketAwards would be held in Santa Cruz next September.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is still one of three finalists for another important industry award – the Applause Award. The winner of that award will be announced at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo in Orlando this November.
