Bay Area Black Music Association Jazz Festival at Jack London Square, November 11, 2017

Free program Saturday to feature legacy performers and rising stars

Oakland, CA, 2017-Nov-10 — /Travel PR News/ — Jack London Square welcomes the Bay Area Black Music Association Jazz Festival this Saturday from Noon to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Black Music Association (BMA) event will feature several Bay Area performers including Bo Henderson, Grammy award-winning former lead singer of The Temptations; saxophonist Steve Gray; and Bay Area jazz singer Stacy Carter in her tribute to Natalie Cole.

“The jazz festival will shine a bright light on the tremendous talent we have here in the Bay Area,” said event founder Rick Warren. “This musical celebration at the Oakland waterfront will honor the Bay Area’s legacy contribution to jazz music and showcase up-and-coming singers, composers and musicians.”

Performances will take place indoors at 55 Harrison St. at Jack London Square. There will be a Music Expo with exhibit booths to educate the public about performers’ projects, offer CDs for sale, and network.

After the daytime festival, the 15th Annual Bay Area Black Music Awards begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online. The awards ceremony will honor performers from the Bay Area in music genres of Jazz, Gospel, Blues, R&B, Pop, Neo-Soul and Multi-Genre.
