Bahrain, 2017-Apr-23 — /Travel PR News/ — A Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) delegation participated in Air Cargo Africa 2017 in Johannesburg 21-22 February.
The delegation met a number of senior representatives of the world’s leading air cargo companies, introducing them to the facilities and advantages the Kingdom and the Bahrain International Airport (BIA) offers to the industry.
This visit is in line with the strategic objectives of BAC to improve the marketability and competiveness of BIA internationally through attracting air cargo companies to Bahrain as a hub for their operations and it was also an opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise with industry leaders.
The cargo industry in Bahrain is a growing sector where it is offering a speedy and reliable transportation of goods to Bahrain and the world and it offers Bahrain a business growth, economic development and market connectivity to the world.
In 2016, Bahrain has handled 259,872 tonnes of cargo, with a 3% growth than the previous year.
