VIENNA, Austria, 2019-Jul-18 — /Travel PR News/ — “We would like to initiate a digital impetus. For this purpose, we are looking for digital pilots”, says Jens Ritter, Accountable Manager at Austrian Airlines, describing the new focal point of the dual course of studies at Austrian Airlines entitled “AIRcelerate”. The study program is being implemented in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences, Worms. In this context, the priority is to find future experts who can help the country’s national carrier to automate and digitalize processes in flight operations. Effective immediately, interested secondary school graduates and also lateral entrants to apply at www.austrian.com/bewerbung. The application deadline is August 30, 2019.

The dual study program “AIRcelerate” for future air traffic managers will start in March 2020 for the third time. Participants will conclude the seven-semester bachelor’s program at the University of Applied Sciences Worms in 3.5 years and will be given a “Bachelor of Arts” degree after successful completion of their studies. In addition to traditional subject matter in the field of business administration, the students learn everything they need to successfully manage an aviation company. During lecture-free periods, the students take part in an airline trainee program at Austrian Airlines in Vienna-Schwechat.

In addition to the opportunity to organize a four-weekly charity project abroad, the students will have the chance to spend one of the semesters studying in another country (e.g. USA, Canada or Hong Kong). The program participants are employed by Austrian Airlines from the very beginning and enjoy numerous employee benefits such as discounted flying. The students receive remuneration totaling EUR 1,019.70 per month during the practical training periods. Moreover, Austrian Airlines covers all study, travel and education costs, and also gives each participant a laptop for his or her studies at the university.

Austrian Airlines employs about 7,000 people from 58 nations.
