Austrian Airlines appoints Steve Beyermann as Head of IT Management

• IT-Manager from company’s own ranks will head division in the future
• Present Head of IT Stefan Matzelle takes on new challenge outside Lufthansa Group

Vienna, Austria, 2020-Nov-18 — /Travel PR News/ — Steve Beyermann (31) will take over as Head of IT Management at Austrian Airlines on January 1, 2021. Beyermann has been working in various functions in the IT division of the Lufthansa Group for ten years, the last three of which at Austrian Airlines. The current head of IT at Austrian Airlines, Stefan Matzelle (51), who was part of the Group for over 18 years – the last four of which with Austrian Airlines – is leaving the company at his own request to take up a new professional challenge outside the Group.

Steve Beyermann (31) started his career after completing his studies in business information technology in 2011 at the Lufthansa Group as IT consultant and project manager at Lufthansa Systems. In 2014, he took over the management of the Lufthansa CIO Office and in parallel led various IT projects, such as the development of the future workplace model of the Lufthansa Group. In 2017, he moved to Austrian Airlines in Vienna as part of his Group-wide responsibility and established the Center of Excellence “Digital Workplace”, which manages all topics related to the digital workplace for the entire Lufthansa Group.
