Introductory one-way fares available starting from $159* Portland-Atlanta and $129* Portland-Dallas
SEATTLE, 2013-05-02 — /travelprnews.com/ — Alaska Airlines will begin new service between Portland, Ore., and Atlanta starting Aug. 26 and between Portland and Dallas/Fort Worth starting Sept. 16, 2013.
“With today’s announcement, we will have committed to eight new routes from Portland within the last 12 months as we continue expansion of this hub,” said Andrew Harrison, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of planning and revenue management. “With these new flights to Atlanta and Dallas/Fort Worth, our Portland-area customers will not only enjoy two new nonstop destinations, but seamless connecting opportunities throughout North America via our partners Delta Air Lines and American Airlines at their respective hubs in Atlanta and Dallas/Fort Worth.”
To celebrate the new service, the airline is offering $159* one-way fares between Portland and Atlanta for travel from Aug. 26 through Oct. 31 and $129* one-way fares between Portland and Dallas for travel from Sept. 16 through Nov. 20, 2013. During the past year, Alaska Airlines has expanded Portland service to Bozeman, Mont., Santa Barbara, Calif., Pasco, Wash., Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., and Kauai. In addition to the two new markets announced today, Alaska is also scheduled to begin flying between Portland and Fairbanks, Alaska, on June 9, 2013.
Alaska Airlines will offer double Mileage Plan miles on Portland-Atlanta flights for travel between Aug. 26 and Oct. 31, and on Portland-Dallas flights between Sept. 16 and Oct. 31, 2013. To qualify, customers must register at www.alaskaair.com prior to their first qualifying flight.
The Portland-Atlanta flight will replace one of the two scheduled Seattle-Atlanta flights, which the carrier will reduce to one daily flight starting Aug. 26.
