HONG KONG, 2017-Jun-26 — /Travel PR News/ — Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the world-renowned National School of Civil Aviation of France (Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile or ENAC), setting out details of the cooperation in delivering joint programmes at the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy (HKIAA).
The MOU was signed in Paris on 22 June (local time) by Jack So Chak-kwong, Chairman of the AA and Marc Houalla, President of ENAC, under the witness of Joseph Lai, Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Transport).
The MOU supplements an agreement signed between the two parties last year to jointly develop programmes for HKIAA that support the training and development of aviation professionals from Hong Kong and countries around the region, including the Belt and Road routes. Under the cooperation, both ENAC and HKIAA will provide support for aviation practitioners in some countries along the Belt and Road routes to take part in HKIAA’s programmes in Hong Kong.
The cooperation aims to support the joint efforts of the governments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and France in building capacity and enhancing civil aviation safety in Southeast Asian countries. It also echoes the “No Country Left Behind” Campaign of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, which is intended to provide training to countries looking for capacity building in aviation.
