2013-02-07 — /travelprnews.com/ — To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Air France teams will be involved in several special events to celebrate the year of the snake with customers travelling to and from China.
At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, the festivities will start on Friday 8 February 2013, at the boarding of flight AF128 to Beijing: Air France’s Chinese agents will present all passengers with gifts. Special announcements wishing everyone a very happy year of the snake will be made in French, English and Mandarin.
Over a ten-day period, all Air France staff will be involved in the festivities, to create a link with customers and celebrate the event together. In the Business-class lounges, for example, iPads will be available enabling passengers to access Chinese press online and Chinese sweets will be offered to all passengers.
On 10 February, on departure from Air France stations in China, gifts will also be offered to Air France and KLM passengers travelling to Paris and Amsterdam.
Air France has also launched an innovative campaign on Sina Weibo, the main Chinese microblogging network: Air France fans were invited to share their best profile photo. The best photos were chosen and printed on giant billboards in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan and Guangzhou.

Air France, together with KLM, is the European leader on the Chinese market. The expectations of Chinese customers are at the heart of the airline’s preoccupations. At Paris-Charles de Gaulle, multicultural agents speaking mandarin welcome passengers on a daily basis, helping them at check-in and boarding as well as with their connections.
On board, crews are trained in Chinese culture and Chinese interpreters are present on all flights to China, where announcements are always made in both Mandarin and Cantonese. Air France offers meals designed by Chinese chefs and offers a wide choice of Chinese movies and international movies with Chinese subtitles on board its flights.
A sign of the quality of its services in China, Air France received the award for “Best airline network” at the Travel Industry Awards 2012, an event organized by the Shanghai Morning Post (daily newspaper in Shanghai with a daily circulation of 750,000). Air France also received an award for the “Best First Class” at the Beijing Evening News Travel Awards.
Air France and KLM operate 87 weekly flights linking 9 destinations in greater China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Taipei, Wuhan and Xiamen) to the hubs at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.
