Air France launches non-stop service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Vancouver international airport

PARIS, 2015-3-31 — /Travel PR News/ — On Sunday 29 March, Air France inaugurated its non-stop service between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Vancouver international airport. Five weekly flights are operated by Boeing 777-200 equipped with 309 seats – 35 in Business, 24 in Premium Economy and 250 in Economy.

As from 13 July, one of these flights will be operated by a Boeing 777-200 equipped with the Company’s new Best&Beyond cabins.

“From sea to sea” is the national motto of Canada. With the launch of a new service to Vancouver, Air France is adopting Canada’s motto – after Toronto and Montreal, its two bases in the east, Air France now directly serves western Canada, in addition to KLM’s offering. Through our ambition to portray French excellence and lifestyle, we are proud to offer our Canadian and French customers the best of Air France’s products and services”, stated Patrick Alexandre, Executive Vice President Commercial, Sales and Alliances Air France-KLM.

“Bienvenue Air France! British Columbians have been asking for direct service to Paris for some time and we are very excited to welcome Air France to YVR,” said Craig Richmond, President and CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. “This new service creates opportunities for business, tourism and trade and strengthens our already strong air access ties with Europe.”

KLM serves 5 destinations in Canada:

• Amsterdam – Toronto: 14 weekly flights

• Amsterdam – Vancouver: 7 weekly flights

• Amsterdam – Montreal: 7 weekly flights

• Amsterdam – Calgary: 7 weekly flights

• Amsterdam – Edmonton: new service to be launched in 2015

Air France links:

• Paris – Montreal: 21 weekly flights

With the addition of new routes to Vancouver and Edmonton, Air France-KLM offers the largest range of flights between Europe and Western Canada for the entire 2015 summer season. These routes are operated in close cooperation between the Group, Alitalia and Delta Air Lines within the framework of a trans-Atlantic joint venture which will operate 78 weekly flights between Europe and Canada, once KLM launches the Amsterdam-Edmonton route.

EVEN MORE CONNECTING OPPORTUNITIES

Air France-KLM has signed a partnership with the Canadian airline WestJet to offer new connecting opportunities in North America, i.e. an additional 20 cities served by WestJet, on departure from 5 Canadian destinations served by the Group.
