Opfikon, Switzerland, 2023-Feb-07 — /Travel PR News/ — Swiss mineral water is sold in the duty-free stores at Zurich Airport. Of this, CHF 0.50 each are donated to a charitable organization. The proceeds of CHF 397,431 from the bottles sold over the last 18 months go to the Stiftung Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe.
The “Charity Water” project was launched in 2014 as a joint project between Flughafen Zürich AG and Dufry. Since then, duty-free mineral water has been sold in duty-free stores at Zurich Airport for a good cause. For every bottle of mineral water sold at the price of CHF 2.50, which is obtained from the Adello spring in Adelboden, CHF 0.50 are donated to a charitable organization. The Stiftung Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe is the sixth organization to be supported in this way by Flughafen Zürich AG and Dufry, following the Kinderspital Zürich, Schweizer Berghilfe, Kinder-Spitex Kanton Zürich, Smiling Gecko and Pro Juventute.
Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe
Since June 2021 until the end of December 2022, the foundation Kinderhilfe Sternschnuppe was supported, which since 1993 has brought joy and variety into the lives of children and young people living with an illness or disability. They fulfill the heartfelt wish of the children and offer the whole family varied excursions and carefree leisure activities. Within this partnership, an adventure day for the children and their families at the airport with a tour and excursion to the observation deck could also be realized in the summer of 2022.
Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber
Since January 2023, the Charity Water has been supporting the Sozialwerk Pfarrer Sieber. This organization provides pastoral, social, medical and material help to people in need. It creates facilities and free spaces and manages projects that enable those affected to live in dignity and to experience themselves as full partners in our society.
