Zurich Airport August 2018: number of passengers up by 5.5% compared to last year

In August, 3’099’820 passengers passed through Zurich Airport, corresponding to an increase of 5.5% compared to last year.

ZURICH, Switzerland, 2018-Sep-13 — /Travel PR News/ — Local passengers increased by 4.9% to 2’171’082 in August 2018. The transfer rate is at 29.8% in the month under review (+0.3 percentage points vs. previous year) and transfer passengers increased by 6.6% to 923’132.

In August 2018, air traffic movements increased to 25’717 (+3.2% vs. previous year). The average passenger per movement figure increased to 136.6 (+2.1% vs. previous year). The average seat load factor is at 82.7% (+0.9 percentage points vs. previous year).

In August 2018, a total of 39’393 tons of freight were transported at Zurich Airport. This corresponds to a decrease in freight volume of 3.1% compared to last year.
