The maiden flight took off to Sofia with 180 passengers on board. The newest WIZZ route will operate daily, as well as the recently announced Budapest service, which will commence in December. By adding Frankfurt Airport to its growing route network, Wizz Air now connects 141 destinations across 42 countries providing millions of passengers with reliable air traffic operations, very low fares and a friendly, consumer-oriented service. In 2016, Wizz Air carried 2,7 million passengers on its German routes, which represents a 22% growth and supports 2,000 local jobs** in aviation, transportation, hospitality and tourism industries.
With its new Frankfurt services, WIZZ now offers 80 low-fare routes from 11 German airports.
