Wizz Air celebrates the first anniversary of its Lublin base

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY, 2016-Sep-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe today celebrates the first anniversary of its Lublin base. The airline based one of its new Airbus A320 aircraft in Lublin on 14 September 2015, after three years of successful cooperation with Lublin Airport, creating 36 direct jobs and bringing more opportunities to Lesser Poland.

At the press conference held on the occasion of this memorable milestone, WIZZ announced that it will start operating a new route from Lublin to Liverpool in the United Kingdom. The new service will commence on 21 May 2017 with two weekly flights. Seats are already on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com with fares starting from as low as PLN 89**.

Since its first flight in 2012, Wizz Air has constantly expanded its Lublin network, which now consists of 7 low-fare routes to 4 countries. In 2015, Wizz Air carried 175 thousand passengers on its Lublin routes supporting over 130 local jobs**. In 2016 Wizz Air has over 300 thousand seats on sales on its Lublin routes, which represents a 57% growth year over year.

With its new Lublin service, Wizz Air now offers a total of 137 low-fare routes to 24 countries from eight Polish airports.
