Wizz Air announces new route from Sofia, Bulgaria to Bratislava, Slovakia

Budapest, Hungary, 2017-Mar-12 — /Travel PR News/ — Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe and Bulgaria’s leading carrier, today announced a new route from Sofia to Bratislava. The newest WIZZ service will commence on 30 June and will be operated four times per week.

Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is the largest business and cultural hub of the country with many beautiful architectural sites and rich cultural heritage. The convenient location of only 80km from Vienna, capital of Austria makes it ideal for a city break visiting several European capitals at once, as well as offers a good and convenient link for business travelers.

WIZZ also announced that it launches its lowest ever fares starting from only EUR 2.99*, on its newest Bratislava route as well as on its most popular services to further stimulate air travel and bring even more opportunities to Bulgaria. Wizz Air’s first Sofia flight took off in 2005 and since then, the airline has become the market leader carrier in Bulgaria. In 2016 Wizz Air carried over 1.7 million passengers on its low-fare Bulgarian routes, supporting more than 1300** local jobs in associated industries. WIZZ has currently seven aircraft based in Sofia and the airline will base another aircraft in Varna in July. Establishing base operations at Varna Airport, WIZZ will create 36 additional direct jobs, increasing the number of its customer-oriented Bulgarian employees to over 300.

With the new Bratislava route, the Bulgarian WIZZ network now consists of 44 low-fare routes, including a domestic service between Sofia and Varna.
