Washington Dulles International Airport welcomes Allegiant Air’s services to Florida

The ultra-low-cost carrier announces new nonstop flights to leisure-focused Florida destinations

Washington DC, USA, 2021-Jul-01 — /Travel PR News/ — The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced Tuesday that Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air will launch new year-round nonstop service from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) in Florida, with flights slated to begin this fall. Both routes will be served with Airbus A320-family aircraft.

“Welcoming Allegiant Air as the newest addition to the Dulles family means more options than ever for nonstop service to popular leisure destinations,” said Carl Schultz, acting vice president of airline business development for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. “Allegiant Air’s new service from Dulles International to these sunny Florida hotspots will be a boon to National Capital Region residents seeking a convenient and affordable getaway.”

The announcement marks the first time Allegiant Air will serve the Washington, D.C., area’s leading international airport.

“We continue to expand our network to provide customers with our unique brand of convenient, affordable nonstop service to even more of the cities they want to visit – whether it’s for a long overdue vacation, or to reconnect with family and friends,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s senior vice president of revenue and planning. “Now more than ever, travelers choose to fly Allegiant because we take them directly to their destinations – without the hassle of layovers or connections.”

The airline will launch its flights from Dulles International to Jacksonville on November 19 and will operate on Mondays and Fridays. Its service from Dulles International to Sarasota will begin December 18 and will operate on Thursdays and Sundays.
