VisitEngland to treat visitors to a futuristic experience at IMEX 2013

2013-05-16 — /travelprnews.com/ — VisitEngland, the national tourist board, will be treating visitors to a futuristic experience at IMEX 2013, with a ‘Science and Innovation’ themed cocktail event and fantastic competition prizes up for grabs. Running from 21-23 May at Messe Frankfurt, Germany, IMEX is the world’s largest meetings and events trade show, attracting thousands of visitors every year. VisitEngland will be on stand F340, accompanied by representatives from a world-class collection of English destinations and venues.

To celebrate England as a leading destination for major scientific and engineering conventions, VisitEngland will host a special ‘Science and Innovation’ themed cocktail party on Tuesday 21 May – complete with ‘scientists’ serving drinks in test tubes.  Visitors to the stand can enjoy their complimentary refreshments while watching a special ‘robotic’ street dance performance.

Visitors can also enter VisitEngland’s science quiz, with the lucky winner enjoying exclusive stays at some of England’s spectacular destinations and venues. The great range of prizes come courtesy of VisitEngland’s destination partners, including: a champagne lunch and tour of Blenheim Palace along with one night stay at the Four Pillars Oxford Thames Hotel with dinner and breakfast for two people; a two-night stay for two people staying at a Four Pillars Hotel of the winner’s choice and a complimentary two-night break for two, including bed & breakfast at the boutique 4-star Hallmark Hotel in Hull.

Other prizes include a three-day break in Bath and Bristol; overnight accommodation at the Forest Pines Hotel & Golf resort with full English breakfast, afternoon tea, 18 holes of golf or spa treatment and complimentary use of spa facilities; and 2 places on Ladies Quarter Finals day (Tuesday 2nd July) on No 1 Court at Wimbledon with full hospitality in the Gatsby Club, hosted by Keith Prowse.

Other stand events include a traditional afternoon tea every day from 3pm-3.30pm, and a champagne reception from 4pm-5pm on Wednesday 22 May, hosted by Blenheim Palace, Four Pillars Hotel and Leeds Castle.

Simon Gidman, Head of Business Visits and Events at VisitEngland, commented:
“The events industry in Britain is worth almost £36billion to the economy and employs over 530,000 people*. England is globally recognised as a centre of excellence for science and innovation, and this is reflected in our world-class meetings and events offering. We’re looking forward to working with our stand partners to showcase England at IMEX 2013, and make this country the destination of choice for business visits and events.”
