Virgin Atlantic Airways is restored to the status of an Official Skytrax 4-Star Airline following latest audit analysis
London, UK, 2012-11-12 — /travelprnews.com/ — After being downgraded in July 2011 due inconsistent service and product standards, Skytrax have announced that following their final October 2012 Audit analysis, Virgin Atlantic Airways has today been certified as an Official Skytrax 4-Star Airline. The Quality Audit checks for this recent certification were conducted by Skytrax staff over a 12 week period, between August and November 2012.
Edward Plaisted of Skytrax commented:
“Virgin Atlantic Airways was one of our first 4-Star Airlines more than 12 years ago, and I am delighted to see them restored to their rightful position in this group of leading airlines. We have witnessed improvement in front-line service quality for Virgin Atlantic in recent months, particularly for the onboard environment. A key factor is that consistency of this improved and enhanced service now meets a good 4-Star level. Accompanying service improvements, the introduction of more A330 aircraft and refitting of many Boeing 747’s has resulted in a higher overall standard being delivered to customers.”
The announcement of Virgin Atlantic Airways as an official Skytrax 4-Star Airline comes just two weeks after the airline’s founder, Sir Richard Branson, revealed that Virgin Atlantic would join one of the global airline alliances within a matter of months. Industry sources seem to indicate that this is most likely to result in Virgin Atlantic Airways joining Star Alliance.
