SEATTLE, 2015-3-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Veteran airline industry expert Charles Breer has joined Alaska Airlines. Breer will serve as managing director of alliances, a new position created, to lead the airline’s 14 airline alliance partnerships.
“Few people in our industry are better suited than Charles to manage Alaska Airlines’ diverse portfolio of airline partners,” said Andrew Harrison, Alaska Airlines executive vice president and chief revenue officer. “Charles has a proven track record and reputation for managing and forging strong relationships, which will help ensure future success of our unique, award-winning mileage plan and codeshare partnerships.”
Prior to joining Alaska Airlines, Breer was managing director of alliances and partnerships for US Airways and American Airlines, where he oversaw key airline partnerships and long-term strategic direction for the company’s North America, Europe and Asia partners. In addition, Breer led the successful transition of US Airways’ airline partnerships from Star Alliance to oneworld, as part of the merger integration with American Airlines. Prior to joining US Airways, Breer spent 17 years at Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines, where he held several director roles, including alliance strategy and development, alliance relationship management and product development/marketing research.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to join Alaska Airlines in this role,” said Breer. “During my years in the airline industry, I have long admired Alaska Airlines, so I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead as member of the team.”
Breer has a bachelor’s degree in Asian studies from Pitzer College and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. A photo of Breer is available for download at http://www.alaskasworld.com/newsroom/ASNews/photos.asp.
