(IN SHORT) IHG Hotels & Resorts and FET SYSTEM INC. will convert two existing properties into ANA Holiday Inns in 2026, introducing the first internationally branded hotels in Sanda and Tosu City. The 130‑room Kobe Sanda hotel and 126‑room Tosu hotel will undergo major refurbishments and adopt Holiday Inn’s Open Lobby concept. This move aligns with IHG’s strategy—where conversions made up 60 percent of openings in Q1 2025—and expands its Japanese Holiday Inn pipeline to 15 properties. ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda will serve outdoor‑enthusiast and business markets near Kobe, while ANA Holiday Inn Tosu will leverage strong corporate demand near Fukuoka. IHG currently manages 54 hotels in Japan across 10 brands, with 17 more slated to open.

(PRESS RELEASE) TOKYO, Japan, 2025-Jul-15 — /Travel PR News/ — IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has struck a new agreement with FET SYSTEM INC. to rebrand two existing properties as ANA Holiday Inns, marking the first internationally branded hotels in Sanda and Tosu City. Scheduled to relaunch in 2026 following extensive renovations, the 130‑room ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda (formerly The Celecton Premier Kobe Sanda Hotel) and the 126‑room ANA Holiday Inn Tosu (formerly Hotel Bientos) will both feature Holiday Inn’s signature Open Lobby design and other brand staples.

“This expanded partnership with FET SYSTEM INC. represents a significant step in our growth strategy,” said Abhijay Sandilya, Managing Director for Japan & Micronesia at IHG and CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan. “We’re thrilled to introduce ANA Holiday Inn properties in Sanda and Tosu alongside our upcoming opening in Iwate Kitakami, providing travellers with the familiar comfort and reliability of Holiday Inn.”

Conversions continue to drive IHG’s global development, accounting for roughly 60 percent of openings and 40 percent of new signings in Q1 2025. These two additions will bring IHG’s Holiday Inn portfolio in Japan to 15 hotels (open and in the pipeline), and bolster the brand’s worldwide network of 1,241 operating hotels with 273 more underway.

“Our team is delighted to bring the Holiday Inn experience to new communities,” added Hiroshi Nakamura, President & CEO of FET SYSTEM INC. “Both Sanda and Tosu will benefit from Holiday Inn’s strong reputation and comprehensive service offerings once renovations are complete.”

Nestled 40 km north of Kobe, ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda overlooks lush landscapes popular for hiking, cycling, and golf, and will feature versatile meeting and event spaces to serve both leisure and corporate guests. Meanwhile, ANA Holiday Inn Tosu—just a five‑minute walk from Tosu Station and 30 km from Fukuoka City—will cater to the region’s robust manufacturing sector and nearby retail and dining districts.

Currently, IHG operates 54 hotels across 10 brands in Japan, with 17 more in development as the company continues to expand its national footprint.
