Johannesburg, South Africa, 2012-10-30 — /travelprnews.com/ — Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, announces that is has signed a new, five-year agreement with eTravel, one of the largest and most respected travel consortiums in South Africa. The new agreement, which takes immediate effect, will see the eTravel group continue to use Travelport’s technology.

“The decision to sign a new agreement with Travelport was an easy one for us as we’re confident that the Travelport team has a clear understanding of our business model and growth ambitions. They are also great people who recognise where eTravel is and where we plan to go and we also firmly believe that they have the right technology and support structures to suit our business,” said Garth Wolff, eTravel’s CEO.

In paving the way for a long-term partnership with eTravel, Robyn Christie, Travelport’s general manager for Southern Africa, said:  “We are looking forward to continuing our close partnership with eTravel and delivering leading-edge technology, rich content and also strong service and support. We recognise the ITC (Independent Travel Consultant) model is unique and we therefore custom make and adapt our offering to provide solutions to fit these business requirements.”
