Tourism Vancouver’s 14th annual Dine Out breaks previous years’ records with more than 100 scheduled food-themed experiences

Vancouver, Canada, 2016-1-11 — /Travel PR News/ — Get ready to start the year off with a palate-busting bang: beginning tomorrow, restaurants taking part in Dine Out Vancouver Festival will be revealed, menus will be posted, and reservations will go live on www.dineoutvancouver.com.

Tourism Vancouver’s 14th annual Dine Out has shattered previous years’ records with more than 100 scheduled food-themed experiences, 21 hotel options for special room rates and packages, and a record-setting 288 restaurants dishing up three-course menus at $20, $30 and $40 price points (many with BC VQA wine pairings available at an additional cost). Dine Out started in 2003 with just 57 restaurants.

Every year, Dine Out invites locals and visitors to sip, sample and savour Vancouver’s array of exotic flavours (Peruvian, German, Brazilian, Italian, Greek, Ethiopian, Chinese, Japanese and East Indian, to name but a few), try new eateries (AnnaLena, Ancora, Bauhaus, Juniper, Royal Dinette and Supermarine, for starters) and return to locally loved haunts. Culinary events add extra sizzle and sparkle, and the roster is particularly spicy this year – check out the brand-new Vancouver World Chef Exchange (a series of exclusive dinners that pair top chefs from Sydney, New York, Copenhagen, Los Angeles and Puerto Vallarta with local chefs to produce powerhouse feasts in five Vancouver restaurants); Café Medina’s Breakfast for Dinner (four-course menu featuring cozy Medina standbys like saumon fumé, short rib fricassée and Liege waffles);Bhangra with Vij’s (a colourful evening of Indian flavours and bhangra dance hosted by celebrated chef Vikram Vij); and Art, Eat and Sip (showcasing local artisans, producers of beer and spirits, and Granville Island restaurants). Returning favourites include Secret Supper Soirée (travel back to the ‘30s and spend the evening sipping cocktails and noshing on capanés in a secret speakeasy) Street Food City (a weeklong, lunchtime food cart frenzy) and Hawksworth Side Dishes (four nights of family-style dining showcasing rustic, modern cuisine in the Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Heritage York Room).

Also new this year: an exclusive Dine Out Vancouver Festival beer made in collaboration with Big Rock Urban Brewery & Eatery. The English-style ale is a mild winter seasonal with notes of plum and chocolate, and can be sampled at the Winter Beer Hall and Brewmaster’s Breakfast. For an insider’s buzz on the brewing process, check out this behind-the-scenes video.

Dine Out is supported by festival partners Wines of British Columbia and YP Dine along with various preferred partners. Now quit your salivating and let the countdown begin. Happy Dine Out!
