CHICAGO, Illinois – 2012-08-02 — /travelprnews.com/ — On Saturday, September 15, Special Olympics Illinois will pit teams of 20 men and women against each other as they play tug-of-war with an Airbus 300 aircraft weighing more than 198,000 pounds.
You’ve got to see it to believe it! Check out the YouTube video that tells the story of the Plane Pull and shows the event in action.
Teams can compete in one of two divisions: Open Division (ideal for companies, school teams, church groups, clubs, friends and families) and Public Safety Division (law enforcement officers, fire fighters, military personnel, etc.; public safety teams need at least 10 public safety competitors to qualify).
Each team will attempt to pull the aircraft in the least amount of time to win the “Fastest Team Pull” and the winners of each division will compete in a “Pull-Off” to be named Grand Champion.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics Illinois, a non-profit organization that provides sports training and athletic competitions for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Registration is open! For information about team requirements and to register for the event, clickhere.
