The Port of Oakland in search for new Aviation Director to replace Deborah Ale Flint

5-YEAR VETERAN DEBORAH ALE FLINT NAMED TO HEAD LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Oakland, CA, 2015-6-4 — /Travel PR News/ — The Port of Oakland said today it’s beginning a search to replace Deborah Ale Flint who announced she will resign next month as Aviation Director. Ms. Ale Flint will become head of Los Angeles World Airports which manages Los Angeles International Airport.

For the past five years, Ms. Ale Flint ran Oakland International Airport, the second-largest airport in the San Francisco Bay Area. She takes over her new post in mid-July.

“We are disappointed to lose such a dynamic, talented leader,” said Port of Oakland Executive Director Chris Lytle. “But she leaves behind a strong management team that will carry on her legacy of innovation, planning and financial discipline.”

Ms. Ale Flint led a period of unprecedented growth at Oakland International Airport. Among the achievements:

  • More than 10 million annual passengers;
  • 6% passenger growth in 2014 and
  • Flights to 49 destinations in 2015, an all-time high.

Airport growth continues in June with the launch of new flights to Nashville and New Orleans. Aviation is one of three business lines managed by the Port of Oakland. The others are Commercial Real Estate, which includes Jack London Square; and Maritime; which manages the Oakland seaport.
