(PRESS RELEASE) HONG KONG, 2026-Mar-17 — /Travel PR News/ — The Peninsula Hotels has launched the 2026 edition of its global Art in Resonance programme, unveiling a series of newly commissioned contemporary artworks at its flagship property, The Peninsula Hong Kong, during Hong Kong Arts Month. The latest instalment brings together site-specific creations by artist Angel Hui, ceramicist Albert Yonathan Setyawan, and architect-artist Dr. William Lim, transforming key spaces within the hotel into immersive artistic environments.
This year’s programme extends across the hotel’s façade, The Lobby, and The Verandah Café, where a full artist-led takeover will run until 5 May. The initiative also continues The Peninsula’s collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to supporting contemporary artists and fostering cross-cultural exchange.
The exterior of the hotel is animated by Angel Hui’s installation Swimming in Light, which introduces her signature embroidered goldfish motif across the building’s windows and awnings. The work reimagines everyday visual elements through light, colour, and motion, creating a dynamic visual dialogue between the hotel and the surrounding cityscape.
Inside The Lobby, visitors encounter Metamorphic Modulation by Albert Yonathan Setyawan, a large-scale ceramic installation composed of hundreds of handcrafted pieces. The work explores repetition, perception, and spatial transformation, encouraging guests to engage with the piece from multiple perspectives as light and shadow alter its appearance.
The Verandah Café has been fully reimagined through Dr. William Lim’s installation Walking On A Bright Future, developed in collaboration with Tai Ping. The space is transformed into a layered, immersive environment featuring a hand-crafted tapestry and patterned flooring inspired by Lim’s artistic narrative. The installation blurs the boundary between physical space and imaginative storytelling, offering guests a multisensory experience rooted in reflection and optimism.
Complementing the visual installations, the hotel has introduced a series of art-inspired culinary experiences designed to echo the themes of the exhibition. Guests can explore specially curated afternoon teas, desserts, and beverages that draw inspiration from the featured artworks, extending the artistic concept into the dining experience.
The programme reflects The Peninsula’s broader strategy of integrating art into hospitality, offering guests and visitors opportunities to engage with contemporary works in unexpected settings. By commissioning new pieces and providing a platform for mid-career and established artists, the initiative contributes to Hong Kong’s position as a major cultural hub while supporting the global arts ecosystem.
